FIFTH PURSUE RELEASE

The 500-Foot Silent Triangle, the Mother Orb, and a Detailed Analysis of the Most Significant Revelations

AUGUST 7, 2026Washington, D.C.By the Codex Investigative Team

On August 7, 2026, the U.S. Department of Defense published the fifth installment of its ongoing UAP disclosure initiative. This release added 41 new files — including documents, photographs, sketches, and military videos — to the government's public archive. Unlike many previous disclosures, this batch spans over 75 years, with records ranging from 1950 through 2026, and includes material originating not only from the Pentagon but also the FBI, CIA, State Department, and Executive Office of the President. Although the release contains no official confirmation of extraterrestrial technology, it includes several incidents that investigators have been unable to explain using the available evidence. As with earlier releases, the Pentagon emphasizes that "unidentified" simply means there is insufficient information to determine what an object was — not that it is necessarily alien in origin.

THE MOST SIGNIFICANT CASES

THE 500-FOOT SILENT TRIANGLE OVER AFGHANISTAN

Arguably the most discussed document in the new release concerns a military pilot's encounter with an enormous triangular craft over Afghanistan. According to the report, the object was estimated to be approximately 500 feet across — substantially larger than most conventional military aircraft — and witnesses described it as completely silent despite its size, with no visible engines, exhaust, or propulsion system observed. The object reportedly accelerated away in a manner the witnesses considered highly unusual. The Pentagon has not endorsed the witnesses' interpretation, nor concluded that the object represents advanced technology, classifying the case as unresolved due to insufficient corroborating data. Most military UAP reports involve distant lights or poorly resolved infrared targets; this report instead involves a structured craft, a detailed eyewitness description, trained military personnel, and an estimated size far exceeding most aircraft — making it one of the stronger narrative cases in the archive.

THE "MOTHER ORB"

Another particularly intriguing report involves what witnesses described as a large orange sphere. According to law-enforcement observers, the object remained stationary, then appeared to release numerous smaller red luminous objects, after which the smaller objects dispersed independently. Investigators were unable to determine whether the observation represented atmospheric phenomena, drones, balloons, sensor effects, or another explanation, and no definitive conclusion was reached. Reports of larger objects apparently releasing smaller objects have appeared repeatedly in historical UAP literature dating back decades — this does not demonstrate a shared origin, but researchers note that the similarity of descriptions across long time periods makes the pattern worthy of further study.

THE COLORADO BLACK TRIANGLE

One file documents testimony from a former Pentagon employee describing a large black triangular object observed over Colorado, with reported characteristics including a triangular shape, dark coloration, red lights, silent movement, and rapid acceleration. Investigators again did not conclude that the object represented non-human technology. The report remains unresolved because available evidence could neither verify nor explain the sighting.

THE METALLIC SPHERE

One of the most unusual historical records revisits a 1963 Brazilian report involving a metallic sphere. Witnesses claimed a metallic object descended, investigators examined it, and some witnesses believed a human-like body was associated with the event. This document is especially important because many internet discussions portray it as evidence of recovered extraterrestrials — but the newly released file does not verify those claims. Instead, it preserves the historical report exactly as investigators received it. In other words: the Pentagon has released the document, not authenticated the story. This distinction is extremely important.

NEWLY RELEASED MILITARY SENSOR FOOTAGE

Several infrared videos accompany the release, showing military targeting systems tracking unidentified aerial objects. Some exhibit unusual apparent motion, high contrast against background, and tracking by military sensors. However, the videos generally lack range data, altitude, speed, radar information, and multiple viewing angles. Without that contextual information, analysts cannot reliably determine whether the apparent movements reflect the object's motion or effects caused by the sensor platform itself.

RELEASE COMPOSITION

The fifth tranche consists of 41 files total — documents, photographs, sketches, and military videos. Source agencies include the Department of Defense, FBI, CIA, State Department, and the Executive Office of the President. Material spans incidents from 1950 through 2026, the broadest historical range of any release to date.

THE BROADER PATTERN EMERGING

THE GOVERNMENT IS RELEASING RAW MATERIAL RATHER THAN CONCLUSIONS

Instead of telling the public what happened, many files simply document pilot testimony, radar observations, witness interviews, photographs, and intelligence memoranda. The government appears to be encouraging outside researchers to examine the evidence independently.

MOST UNRESOLVED CASES SUFFER FROM MISSING DATA

Contrary to popular belief, many files remain unexplained not because investigators believe they involve extraordinary craft, but because critical information is absent — common missing elements include radar recordings, multiple camera angles, precise distances, weather data, and complete sensor telemetry. Without that data, even sophisticated investigators often cannot distinguish between aircraft, balloons, atmospheric effects, sensor artifacts, drones, or something genuinely unusual.

CERTAIN SHAPES RECUR SURPRISINGLY OFTEN

Across decades of reports, certain descriptions appear repeatedly: spheres, triangles, discs, luminous orbs, and cigar-shaped objects. This recurring pattern is one reason the UAP topic continues to attract scientific and intelligence interest. However, recurring descriptions alone do not establish a common origin or extraordinary explanation.

WHAT HAS NOT BEEN REVEALED

Despite sensational headlines, the latest release does not provide confirmed alien spacecraft, recovered extraterrestrial technology, biological evidence of non-human beings, proof of reverse-engineering programs, or evidence of communication with extraterrestrials. Those claims remain unverified in the released material.

WHY THIS RELEASE IS HISTORICALLY IMPORTANT

Regardless of where one stands on the UAP question, this fifth release represents a notable shift in government transparency. For decades, the public relied on scattered leaks, Freedom of Information Act requests, or unofficial accounts. Now, multiple U.S. government agencies are systematically publishing historical records through a centralized archive.

At the same time, the released files reinforce an important distinction: some incidents remain unexplained because the available evidence is insufficient, and an unexplained case is not the same as evidence of extraterrestrial technology. The value of the archive lies in making the underlying reports available for independent examination rather than asking the public to rely solely on official summaries. For researchers, historians, skeptics, and proponents alike, this growing body of primary-source material provides a stronger foundation for evidence-based analysis than has existed previously.

OVERALL ASSESSMENT

The fifth PURSUE release continues the pattern established by prior tranches: substantive historical and contemporary material is released, several cases remain unresolved for lack of corroborating data, and no release confirms extraterrestrial origin for any incident.

  • The government continues to release raw investigative material rather than official conclusions, inviting independent examination.
  • Most unresolved cases lack critical data — radar, multiple angles, precise distances — rather than pointing to extraordinary technology.
  • Recurring shapes across decades of reports (triangles, spheres, orbs) merit continued study but do not by themselves establish a common origin.

As with previous releases, the value of this tranche is not in definitive answers but in the breadth of primary-source material now available for independent, evidence-based review.

None of the documents, videos, photographs, or sketches in the fifth PURSUE release confirm extraterrestrial technology, recovered non-human biological evidence, reverse-engineering programs, or communication with extraterrestrials. All cases with unresolved explanations remain open investigations.
